Grants For Small Business and How to Get One.

The grant process. It can be years. It can be months, sometimes it can be weeks, it depends upon the value of the grant.

I mean, it varies, it depends on who’s giving the grandpa and both the application process is how much the grant is for, generally speaking, you know, the more money that you’re applying for, the more involved the process is going to be. And they’re going to want to ask me more questions. And they’re going to want to understand what their money is going to be used for. Now, there are a small dollar amount, that where sometimes there’s just a portable and there are other times where we’re buying forms and coals and building a relationship over time in order to receive a larger sum of money. So it really just varies based on what you’re applying for, who you’re applying for, from. And what what the parameters or the requirements of the grandkids. So it’s one of the things with COVID is that, over the last several months, we have seen more programmes, both from the government and from private entities, for small businesses than probably any time in history. You know, there have been the last government programmes that everybody has heard about the [not understandable 1:36] and the idle, and others. And then there are many, both large corporations and private foundations that are giving money to all kinds of businesses all across the country during this time, because there is a recognition that small businesses are the hardest hit during this period. And so we are constantly on the lookout for opportunities for our clients to apply for grants. Because there there is a lot of money that is being made available out there. And we want to make sure that we get a.

The grant process. It can be years. It can be months, sometimes it can be weeks, it depends upon the value of the grant. And some take you getting on a telephone, as the business owner or nonprofit is typically on or geared at nonprofits, especially the past, not presently, but especially in the past. So you have been on the telephone, telling about your programme, what you’re doing, and how much you’re spending on the targeted audience. So making sure that you’re not spending 90% of it on something other than with the nonprofit does, for example, the Small Business grants that have come out mostly this year, they have been prevalent in the years past, people have not done them. And some of them can be targeted towards certain audiences. women owned businesses need to have 51% or more, or minority of businesses 51% or more. So they can be targeted. Or you have to have sales under a certain dollar amount. You have to have shown a loss. That’s some of the grants, or what are you doing to help out your community. And so that can be Sunday as well. So you as the business owner will need to know that. And what we’re doing is we’re trying to find these grants, and some can be up to 20,000. For example, how can you find the grants hoping that you can be one of the finalists and go ahead and get it to very, it’s very small percentage, we’ll go ahead and get it. But there’s no reason not to try. You get zero percent of the the chances you don’t try on and you get you some percentage of something that you do try on, it’s just like any sales that you do, you’re not going to get 100% of the sales you do. So the more you do with them, the more likely you might win. One of these grants, especially in this year, 2020 COVID-19 have these large corporations giving out money to smaller corporations to help them out. This is grant income to a for profit business. So you won’t need to pay income taxes on it. If you do have net income in 2020, but it should help you tide over some of your expenses as you continue to work through the devastation of COVID-19, to some of the small businesses in the United States. So you or your outside side accounting office, or your internal accounting office should be applying for these as much as possible. Eventually, you will win one. So you just have to have the right one for you. But you might as well do it. for nonprofits, nonprofits do this all the time. This is not a 2020 phenomenon. They haven’t every single years year, and the bigger ones does take some cultivating by the executive directors to talk to the organisation, they continue to talk to them over and over again, they submit that grant application, and it’s very expensive. They usually have grant writers that have write it for, for these big grants, because it’s very important what you write in them as long, as well as the financial statements that you provide with them. They also want to make sure you’re current with whatever state you’re in. So you file your your tax returns and pay whatever the fee is for that particular state. And in the end, the chances of getting that is still very low. But if you get one of these grants, they can be very large, they can be in the hundreds of thousands or even millions, depending upon the grant module 20,000 appears just talking about it. But you have to do that right, you have to fill out the application, right. So go ahead and get the grant. If you do anything wrong in the grant, all they do is like they move it over to a no side because you didn’t follow the rules. If you don’t follow rules, you don’t get you don’t get put on to the next phase with it. So grants, even though they’re a long shot for most companies, you should try them. If you continue to try them, you may eventually get one of them. But I think that small businesses overlook these types of things, because they’re so caught up right now trying to run their business. So having somebody like CFO Rick, or an outsourced accounting department or internal accounting department, they should be doing this for you. They should be mining for these things, to look to see what’s out there and applying on behalf of the small business.
